The 33rd annual meeting of the European Bone and Joint Infection Society (EBJIS) was held September 11-13, 2014 and hosted by the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The EBJIS is an European association of orthopedic surgeons, trauma surgeons, infectious disease specialists and microbiologists. They all have a focus on the infections of the musculoskeletal system. At the same time they are involved in research in this area. The members of this association come from 32 countries, mainly from Europe but also from other continents.
The annual meeting brought together almost 600 experts, practitioners and companies from 44 countries involved in infections affecting bone and joints. Professionals attending this meeting benefited from high-level scientific presentations, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities, with the overall goal of promoting prevention and treatment of these diseases.
The 34th annual meeting of the European Bone and Joint Society (EBJIS 2015) will be held September 10-12, 2015 in Estoril, Portugal (http://www.ebjis2015.org/).
